When I met Naomi and Drew, and they told me their story, I thought it was truly one of the sweetest real-life love stories I'd ever heard because it was a true example of long-lasting love and commitment. Ever heard of Junior- High Sweethearts? These two met in the 7th grade and have been going strong ever since! They have literally grown up together and chosen to continue to grow in love together.
I loved the truly rustic feel of this wedding. We started getting ready at their home in Preston, just 12 miles from the scenic Snoqualmie Falls. The clear view of Mt. Si made it appear as if it was right in their backyard! Then we drove about six minutes away to their good friend's property for an intimate backyard wedding with endless trees and a creek as the backdrop. After the ceremony, the wedding was a big party with lots of friends! Instead of the traditional first dance, the couple opted to play the Newlywed game hosted by two of their close friends. A heartfelt tribute from Naomi's dad singing "I Got you Babe", almost brought me to tears. The funny toast from Naomi's brother and sister featuring the "Sorting Hat" from Harry Potter that followed actually did bring me to tears from laughter!
As you read through their photo-story, notice the wooden signage and especially take notice of the beautifully crafted arbor at the altar. The groom, Drew MADE them all! When he told me that, I was blown away! Check out their photo-story below.
How did you two meet? We met in junior high school and started dating in high school
When did you get engaged? How'd they pop the question? In September, we hiked up to Lake Talapus with our pup and he proposed at the lake at the top. He made a custom ring box with inlaid different types of rare woods.
Tell me your love story. What do you love about your relationship? We've been together for so long, that we're really comfortable around each other and know each other so well. We even make the same jokes at the same time. We've grown up together and gone through a lot of changes.
